Kateřina Kněžíková (b. 1982)

Singer and teacher

- graduate of grammar school and singing at the Prague Conservatory and HAMU

- she devotes herself to opera and song repertoire

- she debuted at the National Theatre in Prague in 2005

- among her important roles she counts Serpetta in the opera La finta giardiniera at the Estates Theatre directed by the Hermann couple (2008), Julietta in the opera Julietta or The Key to Dreams at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre directed by SKUTR (2019), Káťa Kabanová in the eponymous opera directed by Damiano Michieletto premiered at the Glyndebourne festival (2021), and Rusalkadirected by SKUTR at the National Theatre (2024)

- for the role of Julietta she received the Thalia Award; for the CD of song repertoire Phidylé, which she recorded with the Janáček Philharmonic under the baton of Robert Jindra, she received the BBC Music Magazine Vocal Award

Thus the MenART Impulse project was born – a ten-minute story with the ambition to move forward all those who are interested in art, work with art or study it. Desire is contagious!
