Jan Kodet (b. 1968)

Choreographer, dancer and teacher

- graduate of modern dance pedagogy at the Department of Dance at HAMU

- as a dancer he worked in foreign theatres, for example Dance Berlin, S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre Frankfurt or Ballet Gulbenkian

- as a teacher he has taken part in a number of international workshops; he is co-founder and artistic director of the International Contemporary Dance Workshop Prague

- in Prague he teaches choreography at the Department of Dance at HAMU, and collaborates with the Prague Dance Conservatory and the Prague Dance Centre

- until 2024 he held the position of ballet master at the Ballet of the National Theatre for over 20 years

- he has created dozens of successful projects, and has long-term collaborations for example with the directing duo SKUTR or with the opera director Jiří Heřman

- his productions Lola & Mr. Talk (Archa Theatre) and Camoufl.AGE (National Theatre) won the Theatre Newspaper Award and the Sazka Prize for choreographic achievement of the year

Thus the MenART Impulse project was born – a ten-minute story with the ambition to move forward all those who are interested in art, work with art or study it. Desire is contagious!
