Jan Fišer (b. 1980)

Violinist and teacher

- graduate of violin at the Prague Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon University in the USA

- School of Music and also a number of master classes in Austria, Germany and the USA

- works as concertmaster of the Czech Philharmonic

- has performed with PKF – Prague Philharmonia, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony and the Saarbrücken-Kaiserslautern Radio Philharmonic

- he has been winning music competitions since the 1990s; in 1999 he received the Davidoff Prix for the most talented young artist in the Czech Republic

- he grew up with West and South Bohemian folk music, which he used to actively pursue – he also performs as a solo and chamber player, including with the Dvořák Trio

How to recognise talent, how to support and develop it? How to guide students meaningfully? When does a pupil become an artist?
Questions concerning passion, obsession, motivation, inspiration and feedback are answered by prominent figures of the Czech art scene who, in their role as mentors in MenART, help talented students and their teachers find their own path.
Thus the MenART Impulse project was born – a ten-minute story with the ambition to move forward all those who are interested in art, work with art or study it. Desire is contagious!
